All India Water Ministers Meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi will share his remarks at the All India Water Ministers’ Meet on the theme ‘Water Vision @ 2047’, which brings together key policy makers to discuss “ways to harness water resources for sustainable development”. .

The Union Ministry of Jal Shakti is organizing a national level conference on water on the theme ‘Water Vision @ 2047’ in Bhopal from January 5-6.

PM Modi said he will share his views at the conference on Thursday.

“Tomorrow, January 5 at around 9:45 am, I will share my remarks at the All India Water Ministers’ Meeting on the theme ‘Water Vision@2047′. This platform for sustainable development and human progress,” he said in a tweet. Brings together key policy makers to discuss ways to harness water resources.’

What is the purpose of the All India Annual State Ministers’ Conference on Water?,

The primary objective of the two-day ‘All India Annual State Ministers’ Conference on Water’ is to gather inputs from various stakeholders of the States for India @ 2047 and ‘5P’ vision and to improve engagement and partnership with the States. To share the initiatives and schemes of the government, the ministry said in a statement.

Addressing the challenges of water security as part of the India @ 2047 plan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had earlier announced the ‘5P’ mantra for sustainability.

The ‘5Ps’ stand for political will, public funding, participation, public participation and persuasion. In order to enhance the insights of this conference, there will be a plenary session which will set the agenda of the conference focusing on Water Vision@2047.

The conference will have 5 thematic sessions:

  1. water security in water scarcity
  2. water surplus and hilly areas
  3. Water use efficiency including reuse of waste water/grey water
  4. water administration; Climate Change Resilient Water Infrastructure
  5. water quality.

first thematic session Addresses various aspects of “Water Scarcity, Water Surplus and Water Security in Hilly Areas”

second thematic session The focus is on “Water Use Efficiency including re-use of waste water/grey water” to make the objective of community participation at the grass root level successful.

third thematic session Bringing together various states aided by the Center on “Water Governance” aims to break silos in the water sector. The fourth thematic session addresses the present scenario of climate change in the country and the measures required to mitigate the effects of climate change. The 5th session on Water Quality deals with the water quality problems of drinking water, surface water and ground water.

Thematic sessions have been designed so that we can work together towards the larger vision of making India a developed nation by 2047.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat will participate in the conference. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will chair an important thematic session on water governance during the conference, the statement said.
