PM Modi to interact with beneficiaries of Atmanirbhar Bharat Swayampurna Goa scheme on Saturday

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with the beneficiaries and stakeholders of the Atmanirbhar Bharat Swayampurna Goa scheme through video conferencing on Saturday, 23 October at 11 am. After the conversation of PM Modi, his address will be on this occasion. Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant will also be present on the occasion.

The Atmanirbhar Bharat Swayampurna Goa scheme was launched on 1 October last year with an aim to make villages self-reliant. This program is inspired by the Prime Minister’s proclamation of Atmanirbhar Bharat.

The program aims to focus on agriculture, animal husbandry, youth and adolescents, senior citizens, women and self-help groups, tourism, fisheries, natural resources, various schemes and their convergence and general good governance.

Atmanirbhar Bharat Swayampurna Goa Scheme

Under the Atmanirbhar Bharat Swayampurna Goa scheme, a state government official is appointed as a “Swayam Purna Mitra”. This friend visits a designated municipality or panchayat, interacts with people, coordinates with several government departments, and ensures that various government schemes and benefits are available to eligible beneficiaries.

The scheme was put on hold from May 2021 due to rising Covid cases and resumed in July 2021.

Earlier, Sawant had stressed on the need to adopt various sustainable measures to achieve economic empowerment for the villages.

“In addition to these targets, a few more were added which include the number of persons with disabilities in the area, the number of senior citizens, the number of families engaged in agriculture, those dependent on fisheries, animal husbandry, etc.,” Sawant had said in February.
