Defense Ministry to start simulation training facilities

The Defense Ministry will also launch a nationwide program to augment the simulation training facilities for the three branches of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) – Army, Air and Navy.

Kumar said that the Army wing of the NCC currently has a rifle firing simulator which will be increased to 98.

He said that the microlight flying simulators for the air wing of NCC would be increased from six to 98.

He said that the rowing simulators for the Naval Wing of NCC would be increased from 10 to 61.

He said that a new structure and structure for Sainik Schools would also be dedicated to the nation on the occasion of Rashtra Raksha Samarpan Parv.

The Union Cabinet has recently approved setting up of 100 Sainik Schools across the country. Kumar said that these 100 schools would be established in the next two years.

Kumar said that while the schools would be set up by private educational institutions, NGOs and state governments, the central government would provide assistance to 50 per cent students by paying 50 per cent of their fees.

He said that these 50 percent students would be selected on the basis of merit-cum-means.

He said that for the first time, Sainik Schools will have the option of giving day scholars from early morning till late evening so that they can participate in the academic and extra-curricular activities throughout the day. To this day, Sainik schools have students who board in their hostels.

Kumar said that an NCC Alumni Association would also be started in Jhansi by the Prime Minister. He said that Modi, a former NCC cadet, would be the first member of this association.

Following the Prime Minister’s statement on August 15, 2020 that NCC would be expanded to the border and coastal areas of the country, 1,283 schools and colleges were identified, of which 896 were in border areas, 255 in coastal areas and 132 in talukas . Housing Air Force stations, he said.

He said that since COVID did not allow physical training, the theoretical component was provided to NCC cadets through online mode in these schools and colleges.

He said that wherever schools and colleges opened, physical training was also given.

He said that the implementation of this scheme for the last one year would be displayed in Jhansi under a three-day program.

Kumar said 1,034 hectares of land has been given permission at the Jhansi node of the UP Defense Industrial Corridor.

PM Modi to dedicate two electronic kiosks

He said the Prime Minister will ceremonially dedicate two electronic kiosks at the National War Memorial in Delhi on November 19, which will allow visitors to mark their presence and pay virtual tributes to the martyred heroes.

He said Modi will also launch a mobile app that will give a virtual tour of the National War Memorial with a 360-degree experience.
