PM Modi thanks many world leaders for wishing him on his 71st birthday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday thanked several world leaders, including Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Nepal’s Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, who wished him on his birthday and wished him good health and success in leading the country.

Many dignitaries and politicians from across India also extended their best wishes for Prime Minister Modi, who turned 71 on Friday.

Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa tweeted, “My warm wishes to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his birthday. May good health and strength accompany you on your journey through this difficult time.”

Responding to the tweet, Modi said on Twitter, “Thank you President @GotabayaR for the good wishes.”

Sri Lankan President’s brother and Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa also congratulated Modi.

Mahinda Rajapaksa tweeted, “Heartfelt wishes to my good friend, PM @narendramodi, as you step into another year of your life. I wish you strength, success & good health, as you make #India Get out of these tough times,” Mahinda Rajapaksa tweeted.

Modi replied, “My friend, PM Rajapaksa, thank you for the well wishes.”

Nepal’s Prime Minister Deuba also extended his best wishes to Modi.

Deuba tweeted, “Happy 71st birthday to Shri @narendramodi. May it bring good health and further success.”

Modi thanked Deuba for his greetings.

Former Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli also congratulated Modi and wished him good health and happiness. Prime Minister Modi thanked Oli for his greetings.

Modi also thanked the Prime Minister of Dominica, Roosevelt Skerritt, who on behalf of the people and government of Dominica extended wishes to the Indian Prime Minister on his birthday.

Born in Gujarat in 1950, Modi joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) at a young age and was later inducted into the BJP.

Became chief minister of Gujarat in 2001, Modi never suffered an electoral setback when votes were cast under his leadership, leading the BJP to power in the state for three consecutive terms and then back to power at the Center in 2014 and 2019.
