PM Modi targeted the opposition, said – those opposing the Central Vista said about the Defense Complex

Central Vista Project: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday inaugurated the Defense Office Complex at Kasturba Gandhi Marg and Africa Avenue in Delhi.

Speaking on the occasion, he took a dig at those criticizing the Central Vista project and said that such people remain silent on these facilities being given to the army.

Opposition parties, including the Congress, had questioned the project and termed it unnecessary. PM Modi informed that the newly constructed Defense Office Complex is part of the Central Vista Project.

“Those who were criticizing the Central Vista project never mentioned the Defense Office Complex, which is also a part of Central Vista. They knew their lies would be exposed,” he was quoted as saying by ANI.

He said that the work of the Defense Office Complex, which was to be completed in 24 months, has been completed in a record time of just 12 months amid many other challenges ranging from labor to COVID pandemic. Hundreds of workers were employed in this project during this period.

The construction of the Defense Office Complex is part of the Central Vista project. The entire area of ​​Rajpath is to be redeveloped along with the construction of a new Parliament building and a new Central Secretariat under this project.

The Prime Minister inspected the campuses before the inauguration and also launched the Central Vista website. The new Defense Office Complexes will provide work space for about 7,000 officers from the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces, including the Army, Navy and Air Force.

Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister said that in the 75th year of independence, another step has been taken to develop the national capital in line with the needs and aspirations of a new India.

PM Modi said, “The Defense Office Complexes are going to further strengthen the efforts to make the working of our forces more convenient, more effective.”

“These modern offices will help in carrying out every task related to the security of the nation effectively. This is a big step towards creation of modern defense enclosures in the capital,” he said.

“Today when the central government is trying to modernize India’s military power in all respects, equipping it with modern weapons, procurement of necessary equipment for the army is gaining momentum, how can it be possible that the country Let’s continue the defense campaign in the decades-old way?” he said.

The Prime Minister said that there is a spirit of ‘Ease of Life’ and ‘Ease of Doing Business’ in the work being done today related to Central Vista. He expressed confidence of timely completion of the construction of the new Parliament House.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of State for Defense Ajay Bhatt, Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Kaushal Kishor and the Chiefs of Armed Forces.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the new Defense Office Complexes are state-of-the-art and energy efficient with comprehensive security management measures. The salient features of these buildings are the use of new and sustainable construction technology LGSF (Light Gauge Steel Frame).
