Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke on Constitution Day for the second time in 8 hours on Friday. In a program organized at Vigyan Bhawan, Delhi, he said that even after independence, the thinking of the days of slavery exists in the country. This mindset is giving rise to many distortions. People of such thinking, sometimes in the name of freedom of speech, are obstructing the development of the country by taking recourse to some other thing.

The Prime Minister said- I was with the colleagues of the legislature and the executive in the morning. And now I am among all you scholars associated with the judiciary. We have to remove the slavery mentality and the distortions created by it.

We all may have different roles, different responsibilities, different ways of doing things, but our faith, inspiration and energy is the same source – our Constitution.

Both the government and the judiciary are born out of the womb of the Constitution. Hence, both are twins. These two have come into existence only because of the constitution. Hence, from a broader perspective, even though they are different, they complement each other.

Our government never differentiated between development
In the light of the dreams of the people who lived and died for freedom, our constitution makers, who have cherished the great tradition of India for thousands of years, gave us the constitution. Sabka Saath-Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas-Sabka Prayas, this is the most powerful example of the spirit of the Constitution. The government dedicated to the constitution, does not discriminate in development and we have done this.

Colonial mindset biggest hurdle in development
PM said- Sardar Patel had dreamed of Sardar Sarovar Dam on Mother Narmada, Pandit Nehru had laid the foundation stone for it. But the project remained stuck in politics till the audience. Stuck in the movement in the name of environment. He was reluctant to take a decision on it till the court. But with the water of the same Narmada, Kutch has become one of the fastest growing districts in India.

Unfortunately, in our country too, due to such mentality, obstacles are put in the development of our own country. Sometimes in the name of freedom of expression and sometimes with the help of something else. This colonial mindset is a big obstacle in further strengthening the determination power that was created in the freedom movement.

Similarly, we are the only country in the process of achieving the goals of the Paris Agreement ahead of time. Still, in the name of environment, different pressures are created on such India. All this is the result of colonial mentality.

Helping the poor realizes participation in nation building
During the Corona period, free food grains are being ensured to more than 80 crore people for the last several months. The government is giving free food grains to the poor by spending more than Rs 2 lakh 60 thousand crore on PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana. Just yesterday we have extended this scheme till March next year.

When the common man of the country, the poor of the country joins the mainstream of development, when he gets equal opportunities, his world changes completely. When the street vendor also joins the system of bank credit, then he feels his participation in nation building.

The poorest of the poor are getting quality infrastructure
Today the poorest of the poor are getting the same access to quality infrastructure, which was once limited to the resourceful people. Today, the country has as much focus on the development of Ladakh, Andaman and North East as it is on metro cities like Delhi and Mumbai.
