Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday (December 13) congratulated Harnaaz Sandhu on winning the Miss Universe 2021 beauty pageant. The PM wrote on his Twitter handle, “Congratulations Harnaaz Sandhu on being crowned Miss Universe 2021. Once again India’s daughter has made the nation proud. Best wishes for all your future endeavours Beta!” He wrote on Twitter.
East, Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Neha Dhupia, Neil Nitin Mukesh, and Kangana Ranaut He also took to social media to congratulate Sandhu on his historic victory.
Congratulating Sandhu on her incredible victory, 1994 contest winner Sushmita wrote, “#Yehbat ‘Har Hindustani Ki Naaz’ Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu #MissUniverse2021 #INDIAAAAAAA. So proud of you!!!! The last Indian to win the title was Lara Dutta, who won the crown in the year 2000. The 21-year-old Harnaaz defeated contestants from 79 countries to win the title. The 70th Miss Universe 21 was held in Eilat, Israel. Harnaaz, who hails from Chandigarh, Punjab, has previously won several pageant titles including LIVA Miss Diva Universe 2021 and Femina Miss India Punjab 2019. She will also act in Punjabi films like ‘Yaara Diya Poo Baran’ and ‘Bai Ji Kuttange’.
