PM Modi congratulates Canadian counterpart Justin Trudeau on his election victory
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday congratulated his Canadian counterpart Justin Trudeau on his election victory and said he would continue to work with him to further strengthen India-Canada ties.
Trudeau won the parliamentary elections but failed to secure a majority. However, he leads a strong minority government, which will not be toppled anytime soon by the opposition.
Modi tweeted, “Congratulations to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on your election victory! I look forward to continuing to work with you to further strengthen India-Canada ties as well as our cooperation on global and multilateral issues “
