UNNAO (UTTAR PRADESH): Hailing Prime Minister Narendra Modi on its decision to cancel Center’s three agricultural laws, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Sakshi Maharaj On Saturday, the former chose the country over laws, adding that the decision had nothing to do with the upcoming elections.
Briefing media persons, Maharaj said, “BJP will cross the gap of 300 seats in 2022.” Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections, Agricultural laws have nothing to do with elections. For Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP, the country comes first. Bills come and go. They can be repurposed and brought in again. It doesn’t take time.”

In his address to the nation today, PM Modi said, “We have decided to repeal all three agriculture laws, will initiate the process in the Parliament session starting this month. I urge farmers to return home to their families.” And let us start afresh.”
Farmers have been protesting the Centre’s three agriculture laws since they were passed in 2020.
The three agricultural laws are as follows: The Farmers Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act provides for setting up a mechanism to allow farmers to sell their agricultural products outside Agricultural Produce Market Committees (APMCs). Any licensed trader can buy produce from farmers at mutually agreed prices. This trade of agricultural products will be free from mandi tax imposed by the state governments.
The Agreement on Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Price Assurance and Agricultural Services Act allows farmers to take up contract farming and market their produce freely.
The Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act is an amendment to the existing Essential Commodities Act.
