PM-KISAN 10th installment on December 15: Is it necessary to link Aadhaar to get Rs 6,000 annual benefit? know here

New Delhi: The 10th installment of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) is likely to arrive on December 15, as is being widely reported in the media.

Under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, an annual cash transfer of Rs 6000 is done to farmers in three installments every year. The first installment is between April-July; The second installment is between August-November and the third installment is between December-March.

Is Aadhaar card linking mandatory for PM Kisan Samman Nidhi benefits?

Yes, Aadhaar card linking is mandatory for all Direct Benefit Transfer schemes. Therefore Aadhar linking is necessary to get PM Kisan Samman Nidhi benefits. Under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, the installment is transferred to the bank account of the farmers which is linked to their Aadhar card. One of the major reasons for payment failure in the past has been mis-registration of some important information like Aadhaar number or account number.

1. Go to PM Kisan website pmkisan.gov.in.
2. You will see a link above ‘Farmers Corner’, click on this link
3. You will see a link ‘Aadhaar Edit’, click on it.
4. A page will open where you can check your Aadhaar number and correct the information.

Additionally, if the bank account details are incorrect, you can correct it. However, for this you will have to contact the office of your agriculture department or accountant. You can go there and get it fixed.

PM-KISAN scheme for small and marginal farmer families only?

Initially when the PM-Kisan scheme was launched (February, 2019), its benefits were admissible only to the families of small and marginal farmers who had a combined landholding of up to 2 hectares. The scheme was later revised in June 2019 and extended to all farmer families, irrespective of their holding size.

The Central Government had notified the decision to give a benefit of Rs 6,000 per year to all 14.5 crore farmers of the country under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, irrespective of the size of their holdings.

Who has been excluded from the PM-KISAN scheme?

Those excluded from PM-KISAN include institutional land holders, farmer families holding constitutional posts, serving or retired officers and employees of the state or central government, as well as public sector undertakings and government autonomous bodies. Professionals like doctors, engineers and lawyers as well as retired pensioners having monthly pension of more than Rs 10,000 and paying income tax in the previous assessment year are also not eligible for the benefit.
