Ahead of his 100th first-class match, Unadkat posted a heartwarming post on social media, sharing several pictures from his cricketing journey

All eyes will be on Jaydev Unadkat when his team Saurashtra take on Andhra Pradesh in their next Ranji Trophy match in Rajkot on Tuesday. The left arm fast bowler would be getting to his 100th The first-class game as Elite Group B table toppers looks set to continue their winning streak in the tournament.

Saurashtra has had a stellar run in the current Ranji Trophy season. So far they have won three matches – against Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad and drawn two matches – against Assam and Maharashtra, being one of the seven undefeated teams in the tournament.

beyond their 100th Playing first-class, Unadkat posted a heart-warming post on social media sharing several pictures from his cricketing journey.

“On the eve of my 100th first-class match, I want to take a moment and reflect on this journey which has been full of emotion, passion and pride!

“I remember the moment when I made my first-class debut brilliantly. I injured my bowling finger the day before the game,” Unadkat tweeted.

In another tweet, the left-arm pacer wrote, “I wanted to play and make my debut. I used to play with a bleeding finger-nail, and oh my god, that feeling was real! Today, 12 years and 7 months later, I can proudly say that I played 99 games with the same attitude and passion that I had when I played the first match!

“… Before I step on the field tomorrow, while I will be grateful to the Almighty and a lot of people, I will be proud of myself for once, because it was a goal that was close to my heart! Major bucket-list ticked,” the last post of Unadkat’s Twitter thread read.

Unakad recently made a comeback to the Indian Test team after more than a decade. Since making his international debut in 2010, he played his second Test against Bangladesh in Dhaka last month. It took him 13 years to take his first Test wicket and he took 3 wickets on his return. He has also been included in the squad for the first two Tests against Australia at home next month.

In 99 first-class games, the Saurashtra captain has 370 wickets, including 21 5-wicket hauls. He has also scored 1829 runs at an average of 18.85.
