Plane skids off runway in Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar, trainee pilot safe

sea: A trainee pilot narrowly survived when a Cessna aircraft skidded off the runway while taking off from the Dhana airstrip in Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh.

Rahul Sharma, the local administrator of Chimes Aviation, said the 22-year-old trainee pilot was safe.

This unpleasant incident happened around 3 pm. The aircraft belonged to a private institute named Chimes Aviation Academy.

According to eyewitnesses, the plane veered off the runway and landed on bushes.

Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said that an investigation team has been sent to the spot.

“Just received the news of the crash of a Cessna aircraft (single flight) which belonged to Chimes Aviation Academy in Sagar, MP. Fortunately, the trainee is safe. We are sending an investigation team to the site,” he tweeted.

Earlier on Friday, a pilot was killed and his trainee student was injured in an accident in Maharashtra’s Jalgaon district. The aircraft belonged to the Academy of Aviation Shirpur located in Dhule district.

The Madhya Pradesh government had earlier in March last year banned Chimes Aviation from using Dhana airstrip after one of its trainer aircraft crashed in January last year.
