Pro Kabaddi League: In-form Puneri Paltan will take on UP Yoddha, while Telugu Titans will be desperate for a win against Bengal Warriors.

In-form Puneri Paltan will take on UP Yoddha in a Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) match here on Monday. Puneri Paltan have registered three wins in their last five matches since the start of their campaign. But in Warrior they face a more rejuvenated side. In the second game of the night, Telugu Titans, who are yet to register a win this season, will take on defending champions Bengal Warriors.
Both Pune and UP started the season on a poor note, but they have picked up pace in recent times.
The return of Nitin Tomar has given a lot of experience to the young Pune team, which are ranked 10th. But Pune’s hope once again rests on their star raider Aslam Inamdar. The youngster has been an exceptional star for Paltan with his smart toe touches and reverse half kicks.
UP’s raiding trio of Pardeep Narwal, Surendra Gill and Shrikant Jadhav will try to take advantage of the eagerness in Pune’s defence. Both Vishal Bhardwaj and Baldev Singh have a tendency to make early tackles, which will look to be exploited by the attackers.
Bengal Warriors have one win and one tie in their last two matches. Maninder Singh with the Irani combo of Abozar Mighani and Mohammad Nabibakhsh has been the only performer for the Warriors who are not at their usual best.
Titans’ season has been equally challenging. Rajneesh and Ankit Beniwal have performed admirably in the raiding department, but the team often lacks the necessary restraint to secure a win.
The plan of the Titans should be to stop Maninder at all costs. Sandeep Kandola will be the main man for the job but it will require a team effort to stop the Bengal captain.
Titans also need to use all-rounder Adarsh more effectively. He has found points in his limited raiding opportunities and could be a surprise element for the Warriors.
