PK team under house arrest in Tripura: Prashant Kishor’s team reached Agartala to conduct survey for TMC, ban on exit from hotel

The team of election strategist Prashant Kishor (PK), who reached Tripura to conduct a survey for the Trinamool Congress, has been placed under house arrest in the hotel. According to media reports, the team of I-PAC (Indian Political Action Committee) is not allowed to leave the hotel. Several Tripura Police personnel have been deployed inside and outside the hotel to monitor them.

A team of 23 employees of I-PAC has reached Agartala a few days back to conduct a survey for TMC. Everyone is staying at Hotel Woodland. The police and administration have cited the Kovid protocol as the reason for stopping the employees in the hotel. Let us tell you that at present there is a BJP-led government in Tripura.

Abhishek Banerjee’s target on BJP
Mamta Banerjee’s nephew and TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee has targeted the BJP government of Tripura after this incident. He said, “Tripura BJP people are terribly scared even before TMC reached there. They are deeply upset by our victory in Bengal. Therefore the employees of I-PAC have been placed under house arrest. Democracy is dying under BJP rule. Thousands of people are dying.

Worked for Mamta in Bengal Assembly Elections
In the West Bengal elections held in March-April 2021, it was Prashant Kishor who had prepared the election strategy for TMC. PK had claimed that the BJP would not be able to cross the 100-seat mark in the Bengal assembly elections. Something similar happened and BJP was reduced to 77 seats here. After this, Mamta Banerjee started being presented as the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha elections to be held in 2024.

Mamta Banerjee is currently on a tour of Delhi. She reached there on Monday evening around 5.30 pm. She will meet leaders of the opposition including Sonia Gandhi here. Mamta had also sought time to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Modi has given them an appointment on July 8.
