Pitchers became a cult show when it released in June 2015 and an inspiration for millions of people to start their entrepreneurial journey. -Up Venture. However, after a gap of 7 years, the show is now making a comeback with season two.
On Monday evening, TVF announced that Pitchers Season 2 will stream on OTT platform ZEE5 this Christmas and shared the teaser of the show. It begins with the ‘Tu beer hai (You are the beer)’ scene from the first season and then features Abhishek telling Naveen that the concept of beer has become outdated and hence they should come up with something new. For Season 2, the original cast includes Naveen Kasturia, Arunabh Kumar, Abhay Mahajan, Abhishek Banerjee and Gopal Dutt, who are joined by newcomers Riddhi Dogra, Sikandar Kher and Ashish Vidyarti who will be seen in pivotal roles.
However, one person who has gone missing is Jeetu Bhaiya aka Jitendra Kumar. Soon after the teaser was shared, several social media users reacted to it and asked why Jeetendra has not been tagged. “Ok. Why Jeetu is not tagged in the post? Don’t tell me the cast was changed,” wrote one of the fans.
Talking about the show, Arunabh Kumar, Producer, Pitchers said, “We are looking forward to Season 2, which is another collaboration with ZEE5. This is probably one of the most awaited shows of India And I’m grateful to fans for their continued love for Pitchers since its release. We have tried to tell this story of aspirational Indians in these changing times and we can’t wait for everyone to see it.”
Pitchers 2 director Vaibhav Bandhu also said, “Season 2 of Pitchers goes a notch higher not only in terms of story but also visually. The characters have evolved and so has the world of the start-up which they have to navigate.The show has always been about offering something new to the audience and we hope to live up to the love of the fans.
