The world’s oldest Nalanda University is once again ready with its old splendor. The campus of the university spread over 456 acres in Rajgir, Bihar is a unique amalgamation of history and modern construction art. The stairs and the structure of the building are reminiscent of the past. This first university in the world was established in the fifth century during the Gupta period. Bakhtiyar Khilji set fire to this university in 1199.

Vice Chancellor Prof.  Sunaina Singh informed that 90% of the construction work has been completed.  200 buildings are ready in the campus.  The new campus is 12 km away from the ancient university.  It is relaxing to see this amphitheater surrounded by small lakes.

Started studies at the university in September 2014
Former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam shared the idea of ​​revival of Nalanda University with 16 countries at the 2007 East Asia Summit. After this it was agreed to develop it through international partnership. The redesign of Nalanda University, which was a major center of knowledge for 800 years, actually came in 2014. In September 2014, studies started at the university.
