PhonePe clarifies its stand on processing fee, what it says on UPI money transfer, offline, online payments

New Delhi: India’s leading digital payments platform PhonePe on Tuesday clarified that all UPI money transfers, offline and online payments (in UPI, wallet, credit and debit cards) on the payments app are free and will remain free for all. the user.

The company said phonepe does not charge any fees for these transactions, and will not do so in the future.

The company said, “For mobile recharge, PhonePe is running an experiment where a small segment of users is charged a processing fee of Re 1 for recharge of Rs 51-100 and Rs 2 for recharge above Rs 100. He is going.”

This fee is applicable for users across all payment modes (UPI, Wallet, Credit and Debit Cards). Recharge below Rs 50 is completely free.

The company had recently assured cashback of up to Rs 50 on prepaid mobile recharge.

The company said that users recharging through the PhonePe app will get assured cashback on completing three prepaid mobile recharges above Rs 51.

PhonePe has over 325 million registered users. Users can send and receive money, recharge mobile, DTH, data cards, pay at stores, make utility payments, buy gold and invest through this platform.

PhonePe entered financial services in 2017 with the launch of Gold, which offers users a secure and convenient option to buy 24-karat gold securely on its platform.

The platform is also accepted at over 22 million merchant outlets across India.
