Phase II of IT Park to be developed near Ammapet Coimbatore News – Times of India

Salem: Information Technology Minister (IT) T Mano Thangaraj said on Thursday that the second phase of the IT park will be developed near Ammapet in the city. “We have taken this decision after getting the demand of small entrepreneurs.
The minister, who was in the city, inspected the e-seva centers and IT park at Jaggir Ammapalayam after chairing a meeting with his department officials and collector S Karmegam at the collectorate.
Talking to reporters at the IT park, the minister said that his department officials were looking to acquire 30 acres of cooperative spinning mill land near Ammapet for the second phase of the IT park.
“There are over 6,000 small entrepreneurs in the city and they claim that they do not have a proper place to run their business,” he said.
He said that the BharatNet project, a central government project, would be implemented in the state at a cost of Rs 1,800 crore.
The minister said that the IT department has created a mobile app for CM Jan Relief Fund so that people can contribute to the fund through the app.
“Our CM raised Rs 412 crore for the fund in just two months, while the AIADMK government raised Rs 400 crore in one-and-a-half years,” he said.
