Pharma student of Chhattisgarh commits suicide in college hostel of Durg

A 21-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in a room at a private college hostel in Chhattisgarh’s Durg town on Friday. Pulgaon police station in-charge (SHO) Pradeep Sori said that the victim Yamini Rajput was a resident of Narayan Para and was a pharmacy student in a private college in the city. He said the death came to light in the morning when the hostel warden found the woman hanging with a dupatta around her neck in an empty room on the premises.

Police were later alerted and the body was sent for post-mortem, the official said, adding that no suicide note was recovered. Sori said that a case has been registered under relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and further investigation is on.
