Currently, the price of petrol in Mumbai is Rs 108.43 per liter while diesel is priced at Rs 98.48 per liter, which is the highest among the four metro cities. Petrol in Kolkata can be bought at Rs 103.07 per liter and diesel at Rs 93.87 per liter. At the same time, petrol in Chennai is Rs 100.01 per liter and diesel is Rs 95.31 per liter.

Fuel prices vary from state to state depending on the incidence of excise duty levied by the central government and VAT and local taxes of state governments. In addition, crude oil prices rose to a three-year high in international markets after recent price hikes by state-owned oil retailers led energy companies to exceed their reserves due to disruptions in international production. was forced to eject.
