Patna : Double Decker flyover to be constructed from Kargil Chowk to Patna Science College and to add Patna Medical College and Hospital There will be a big relief for the commuters on the busy Ashok Rajpath.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday laid the foundation stone of a project worth Rs 422 crore.
Khurshid Karim, senior project manager of Bihar Rajya Pul Nirman Nigam Limited (BRPNNL), which is the executing agency of the project, said: “Ashok Rajpath area is one of the most congested areas of the city. The traffic load on this road is very high. This upcoming feature will help in easier and faster movement of vehicles. With the help of this development, the traffic load on Ashok Rajpath will be reduced and the local residents will get a better and better option of transportation.
He added: “For a year, we studied and planned everything on this project before finalizing it. The double-decker road will be ready in the next three years.”
With the foundation laid, commuters commuting at Ashok Rajpath are expected to get relief from the frequent hassles.
Manya Singh, a resident of Patliputra Colony, said: double decker flyover There is a great need to reduce tension in the region. I am very happy because going to the area at this time is like a nightmare. When I think of traveling through Ashok Rajpath, I prepare myself for hours. The irony is that many important places are located in this area and you cannot avoid visiting there.
Surbhi Kumari, a resident of Gandhi Maidan area, is also very happy. “It is great that this flyover is being built as I face heavy traffic on my way to college and often reach very late. I have to leave home early to avoid getting stuck in traffic,” she said.
Boring Road resident Vipin Choudhary said that a member of his family is admitted in PMCH and he has to face traffic jams while going to the hospital again and again. He said, “After knowing about the double decker flyover being built at Ashok Rajpath, I am happy and relaxed as it will be of great help to those who have to visit PMCH.”
