Shahrukh Khan’s Pathan is breaking records at the box office. After a long drought in Hindi cinema barring a few films like Brahmastra and Drishyam 2, the Yash Raj spy-thriller has given the right hope to the entertainment industry. The film’s director Siddharth Anand is enjoying the success. The filmmaker, known for films like War and Bang Bang, recently talked about his film ‘Over-the-Top’. He substantiates his answer by citing films like Sholay and Hum Aapke Hain Koun.

During a free-spirited chat with Film Companion, recalling the iconic scene from Sholay in which Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra and Hema Malini run away from Gabbar Singh despite being in the power of the situation, Siddharth Anand probed, “Let’s take for example Let’s take Sholay. Sholay is about catching Gabbar. There is a scene in the film where Basanti is dancing and Dharamji is tied up. What happens at the end of the song? Amitabh Bachchan Comes, Dharamji fills his pocket, picks up the gun, sits on the horse and runs away with Basanti. Bachchan Saheb also runs away sitting on a horse. The whole film is about catching Gabbar, but he gets away.”

Explaining his point, Siddharth said, “It is a firm belief of all makers as they want the desired climax. Sometimes logic has to take a backseat and drama overtakes logic. But you try and physics It is very important. Actually we don’t make action films, people from South make action films. I have made three and each time I have tried to give a little bit of experience to the audience so that when you come to the theater May you feel a higher reality, but not disbelief.

Pathan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Dimple Kapadia and Ashutosh Rana, has achieved several milestones over the course of two weeks. The film is an essential part of Yash Raj’s Jasoos Duniya which includes Salman Khan’s Tiger franchise and Hrithik Roshan’s War.
