The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers on Tuesday (June 13) said that wholesale sales of domestic passenger vehicles grew by 13.54 per cent to 3,34,247 units in May. According to the latest data released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), the dispatch of passenger vehicles (PV) from manufacturers to dealers in May 2022 stood at 2,94,392 units. Two-wheeler domestic wholesale sales stood at 14,71,550 units. Compared to 12,53,187 units sold in May last year, there was a growth of 17.42 per cent.

Similarly, wholesale sales of three-wheelers were higher at 48,732 units as compared to 28,595 units in May 2022. SIAM said total vehicle dispatches across categories stood at 18,08,686 units as compared to 15,32,861 units in May 2022.

SIAM President Vinod Agarwal said, “All segments viz passenger vehicles, two wheelers and three wheelers have registered double digit growth in May 2023 as compared to May 2022. We expect this trend to continue supported by the prevailing economic environment We do.” Said.
