Amidst the ongoing debate over the Pasuri remake of Steprem’s Katha starring Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani, Pakistani artist Sheema Karmani spoke about the same. He featured in the hit song sung by Ali Sethi and Shey Gill.

During the interview with Aaj Tak, Kirmani said that she does not support the remake culture. He revealed that he hasn’t seen the remake version of Pasuri, however, and his feelings about remakes have always been mixed. He further argued whether there is any need for a remake as the original version is so beautiful.

Kirmani said, “I don’t like the remake culture much. However, in a way, it is beneficial because the youth are also listening to the old iconic songs. It is a good thing. Personally, I am against it.”

For the unaware, Sheema Kirmani is a famous dancer and social worker from Pakistan. She is also trained in Bharatanatyam and other dance forms. For the protection of culture, women’s rights and peace, Kirmani founded Tehreek-e-Niswan Cultural Action Group (Women’s Movement).

Coke Studio’s iconic song Pasuri was recreated as Pasuri Nu for Sameer Vidwan’s film Satyaprem Ki Katha, which hit the silver screens on 29 June. Sung by Arijit Singh & Tulsi Kumar, music composed by Rochak Kohli. Pasuri’s recreated version created quite a stir on social media and netizens criticized the makers, including Arijit Singh, for recreating the iconic song.

Shai Gill, who sang Pasuri with Ali Sethi, took to her Instagram stories and urged her fans not to send hate towards Arjit Singh. She said, “I don’t want you to send hate to anyone else. Just look at it as a presentation instead of a remake. Maybe it will help. And if it’s something you don’t like at all, I will do that.” ” Say don’t listen to it.”
