Mumbai rains: People said they were seeing rain “on and off” as the sun appeared intermittently. However, local trains and BEST buses are operating normally without any delay

Unseasonal rains lashed Mumbai, Thane and other neighboring areas on Tuesday morning, bringing respite to the residents of Maharashtra from the scorching March heat. Unpredictable rains have not only given farmers sleepless nights, but office goers in Mumbai have been forced to carry umbrellas since early March.

Residents tweeted pictures and video clips of the rain from Andheri, Jogeshwari, Goregaon, Malad, Kandivali, Borivali, Dahisar, Diva, Dombivli, Kalyan, Ulhasnagar, Ambernath and Badlapur. People said they were seeing the rain “turn on and off” intermittently as the sun set. Local trains and BEST buses, however, are operating normally without any delay.
