Parthiv Patel told this player the future of Indian cricket

The former India wicket-keeper is heavily influenced by Rishabh Pant and called him the future of Indian cricket. Pant is currently on a tour of England, which is his second tour. In 2018, he also scored a century in England during his debut series. Once again, there are high hopes from the young man who has just recovered from COVID-19.

Speaking on ‘The Curtly and Karishma Show’, Patel revealed how keen Pant was to improve his keeping.

“Rishabh Pant is the future of Indian cricket. He is fearless. What do I really like about him. When I was a standby wicketkeeper on a tour in 2018 and he was the first choice keeper, he had the attitude and desire to improve his wicketkeeping all the time. He worked hard on his wicketkeeping. He performed brilliantly on the turning wickets in the India-England home series,” Parthiv said.

As far as his batting is concerned, Parthiv said, ‘He is taking more responsibility while batting. He is playing match-winning innings in Test cricket. That is something that defines a cricketer.”

Meanwhile, Pant has finally recovered from Covid-19 and joined the rest of Team India at the Bio-Bubble in Durham, the BCCI informed via a tweet on Thursday morning. It’s a big positive for a team that didn’t field a regular keeper in the practice clash against England CS XI.

Pant went through a 10-day isolation period before joining Team Bubble in Durham. The likes of Bharat Arun, Wriddhiman Saha and Abhimanyu Easwaran along with Dayanand Garani are still in isolation, as the latter also tested positive for the virus.

On the other hand, young opener Haseeb Hameed celebrated his Test recall with a scintillating century on the second day of the warm-up struggle even as Umesh Yadav bowled some sharp spells to help Select County XI in India get 220. But was largely responsible for the dismissal. Back in the England team after nearly five years, right-handed opener Hameed lived up to his reputation of being called “baby boys” for his dog defensive play like former great Geoffrey Boycott with his 112 from 246 balls. .
