Parkash Singh Badal admitted to Mohali hospital with gastritis; PM Modi wished speedy recovery

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) patriarch Parkash Singh Badal was admitted to a private hospital in Mohali after he complained of gastritis and bronchial asthma. “Appropriate treatment given and now his condition is improving,” the party tweeted on Sunday evening. The five-time Chief Minister of Punjab was taken to a hospital in Mohali on Saturday night.

The 94-year-old was hospitalized “with complaints of gastritis and bronchial asthma”. According to the health update, “all his parameters are normal.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Wishing him a speedy recovery. He tweeted, “Praying for good health and speedy recovery of Shri Parkash Singh Badal ji.”

On June 6, Badal was admitted to PGIMER Chandigarh after he complained of gastric problems. He was discharged the next day. In February, he was taken to a private hospital in Mohali for a health check-up for COVID, during which he also underwent heart and pulmonary tests.

Badal was discharged on January 24 from a hospital in Ludhiana, where he was admitted after testing positive for Covid-19. He was earlier advised by doctors to opt for a bi-weekly or tri-weekly precautionary check-up, especially after contracting COVID-19.
