India increased its medal count at the quadrennial event to 24 thanks to brilliant showings from archer Harvinder Singh, shot put athlete Sachin and club throwers Dharambir and Pranav Soorma.

Team India clinched four medals on Wednesday to add to their Paris Paralympics 2024 tally as the Indian contingent increased its medal count at the quadrennial event French Capital City to 24 thanks to an impeccable gold-winning performance from archer Harvinder Singh, who bagged the yellow metal with a commanding showing in the men’s recurve open event.

Shot Put athlete Sachin Khilari added a silver to the nation’s tally while club throwers Dharambir and Pranav Soorma added two more to the country’s kitty in France with their statement performances to close out the day.

India Results at the Paris Paralympics, September 4 (Wednesday):

Para Cycling: Men’s C2 Individual Road Time Trial Final – Arshad Shaik came in 11th with a time of 25:20.11.

Para Cycling: Women’s C1-3 Individual Road Time Trial Final – Jyoti Gaderiya finished 16th with a time of 30:00.16.

Para Shooting: Mixed 50m pistol SH1 Qualifier – Nihal Singh finished 19th with a score of 522 and Rudransh Khandelwal came in 22nd with a score of 517.

Para Athletics: Men’s shot put F46 Final – Sachin Sarjerao Khilari claimed the silver medal with an effort of 16.32m, while Mohd Yasser finished 8th with a best of 14.21m, and Rohit Kumar came in 9th with 14.10m.

Para Table Tennis: Women’s singles class 4 Quarter-finals – Bhavina Patel lost to Zhou Ying 1-3 (12- 14, 9-11, 11-8, 6-11).

Para Athletics: Women’s shot put F46 Final – Amisha Rawat finished 14th despite his PB of 9.25m.

Para Powerlifting: Men’s 49kg Final – Parmjeet Kumar finishes 8th with a successful lift of 150 Kg.

Para Archery: Men’s recurve 1/16 Elimination Round – Harvinder Singh beat Tseng Lung-hui 7-3 to progress.

Para Archery: Men’s recurve 1/8 Elimination Round – Harvinder Singh beat Setiwan 6-2 to advance.

Para Powerlifting: Women’s 45kg Final – Sakina Khatun finished 7th with her only successful lift of 86 Kg.

Para Archery: Men’s recurve Quarters-final – Harvinder Singh beat Hector Julio Ramirez of Colombia 6-2 to reach semis.

Para Archery: Men’s recurve Semi-final – Harvinder Singh beat Aarb Ameri Mohammad Reza 7-3 to reach the final.
