The third non-bailable warrant (NBW) has been issued on Wednesday against former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh, who has been missing for several days. This has been issued in a case of extortion registered in Mumbai.

This is the third release against Parambir in the extortion case registered at NBW Marine Drive Police Station. Police Inspector Nandkumar Gopal and Asha Korke, who were arrested in connection with the same case on Tuesday, were sent on 7-day CID remand by the Mumbai Magistrate Court.

Earlier, a non-bailable warrant was issued against him by a magistrate court on a plea by Thane police in a similar case. Earlier, the Chandiwal Commission has also issued a bailable warrant against Parambir.

Parambir Singh has been missing since May after going on leave due to health reasons. Several letters were sent to Singh at his Chandigarh residence and inquiries were made about his whereabouts, but no response was received. Last month, Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil had said that they were looking into the provisions of the All India Services (Conduct) Rules to take action against the IPS officer.

On March 17, Parambir Singh was also removed from the post of Mumbai Police chief after Mumbai Police officer (API) Sachin Waje was arrested in connection with the discovery of an SUV containing explosives near Antilia, the residence of industrialist Mukesh Ambani in south Mumbai. Serious allegations were made against Anil Deshmukh
After this, Parambir Singh accused the then state Home Minister Anil Deshmukh of extortion that Deshmukh had asked Sachin Waje to take Rs 100 crore every month from hotels and bars in Mumbai. However, Deshmukh has denied this allegation. On the other hand, according to the officials of the Home Department of Maharashtra, the legal process to declare Parambir Singh as a fugitive has also started.
