Panic eliminated: 180 terrorists killed in Kashmir this year, 20 of them Pakistanis; Less than 200 terrorists left in the Valley for the first time

UNESCO has placed Srinagar in the list of Network of Creative Cities.

For the first time since the beginning of militancy in Jammu and Kashmir, the number of terrorists operating in the Valley is less than 200. The recruitment of youth in terrorist organizations has also reduced drastically. South Kashmir, once a stronghold of terror, has witnessed the maximum number of encounters this year. Jammu and Kashmir Police figures show that 180 terrorists were killed in Kashmir in a year. Of these, 20 were Pakistanis.

Most have been killed in Pulwama, Kulgam, Shopian and Anantnag. In the last 48 hours, security forces killed six terrorists in encounters in Kulgam and Anantnag districts. Two of them were Pakistanis. In the last three months, 57 terrorists were eliminated in joint action by the police, central security forces and the army. These encounters took place after the incidents of target killings increased in the valley.

Target killing increased in three months
UNESCO has placed Srinagar in the list of Network of Creative Cities. Many successful programs were held in Srinagar this year in which eminent personalities from the country and abroad participated. Most of the terror attacks in this quarter were aimed at schools, minorities, street vendors and unarmed policemen coming from outside Jammu and Kashmir.

128 new terrorists were formed in a year, 73 of them were killed
According to sources, 80% of the terrorists already active in the valley have been killed. Most of the local terrorists killed were in the age group of 20 to 25 years. Most of them were killed within a week to a year of becoming terrorists. This year 128 terrorists were recruited, in which 73 were killed. Of these, 16 were arrested and 39 are active.
