The 11-year-old got a new life after a liver transplant. There is an atmosphere of happiness in the family.

An 11-year-old child of village Barwala in Panchkula district has got life. The child was suffering from a rare genetic disorder called Fat Metabolism Disease, which also causes psoriasis and liver damage. Due to which he had to undergo a liver transplant, a part of which was given by his father. Apart from this, the big problem was money for such a big operation, for which many social organizations stepped in. After all, the child’s liver was transplanted in a big hospital in Chennai and after that there is an atmosphere of happiness in the family. He has thanked the doctors.

The child’s father Pawan Kumar, who is a driver by profession, told that his 11-year-old son Wridhiman was suffering from severe jaundice, abdominal fluid and severe muscle damage due to liver disease. He also had bulging eyes. Mother Pooja told that she took him to many places for the treatment of the son, but he was not able to recover. Due to frequent illness, he was unable to do his studies. Used to sit in one place, but now he is also studying and doing mischief like other children.

Dr. Neeraj Kumar, MD of Chaitanya Hospital told that his parents went to many hospitals for the treatment of the son. He then contacted Chaitanya Hospital, who referred him to Dr. Jagdish Menon, Consultant Pediatric Hepatologist and Liver Transplant Physician, Rela Hospital. Rela Hospital at Chaitanya Hospital operates the Pediatric Liver Care OPD Clinic twice a month.

Dr. Menon examined the boy and advised the parents that his treatment was not possible with medicines and the only treatment would be liver transplant. The parents took their child to Rela Hospital, Chennai, where Professor Mohammad Rela said that the donor operation will be robotic, which is without any scars and is going to recover very quickly. The father voluntarily donated a part of his liver to save the son’s life, even though his blood group was different.

Dr. Jagdish Menon told that the child was successfully operated in July at Rela Hospital for liver transplant. This transplant was made possible with the help of several organizations and NGOs, who provided financial assistance for the transplant. The child has been discharged from the hospital after 2 weeks of the transplant. Along with the complete resolution of jaundice, the abnormal bulging of his eyes before the liver transplant also recovered rapidly.
