Pakistani teenager crosses Gujarat border to India after fighting with family

New Delhi: Border Security Force (BSF) personnel detained a 15-year-old Pakistani child along the International Border at Khavda in Gujarat’s Kutch district. The child was caught after crossing the border fence near pillar number 1099 at 11 am on Sunday.

The teenage boy is a resident of Sindh Sahibok in Tharparkar area of Pakistan. The BSF has handed over the youth to the community health center of Khavda village after preliminary interrogation at Khavda police station in Kutch region of Gujarat.

“As per the preliminary investigation by BSF, the boy mentioned that he had a fight with his family members and ran away from his house,” officials told PTI.

Another such incident happened earlier this month when a 12-year-old Bangladeshi child was caught by the Border Security Force (BSF) on his way back from the International Border after meeting his grandfather in West Bengal’s Murshidabad. As a goodwill gesture, the BSF team handed over the minor to Border Guard Bangladesh after standard interrogation.

On 22 July, BSF personnel detained a small child from around the border post Pirojpur, who was trying to cross the International Border and return to Bangladesh.

According to Vishwabandhu, Acting Commanding Officer of the 78th Battalion, an investigation has revealed that the juvenile child did not come to India with the intention of causing any harm or wrongdoing.

“The boy has crossed the international border to meet his grandfather named Iramul Shaikh who lives in the Indian village of Bajitpur in Murshidabad district. Though crossing the international border comes under the category of crime, but for the honor of the boy. Considering the future and the sentiments of the frontline people, the boy is handed over to the BGB as a goodwill gesture,” said the official as noted by News18.
