Pakistani drone shot down by BSF: Found lying in fields during search in Amritsar, heroin worth 74 crores recovered

In Amritsar, Punjab, the Border Security Force (BSF) has foiled a major attempt by Pakistani smugglers on Sunday night. The BSF has not only succeeded in shooting down the drones sent by Pakistan smugglers to the Indian border, besides confiscating heroin worth Rs 74 crore.

BSF has got this success in Amritsar sector. BSF personnel were on patrol during the night. At midnight, Pakistani smugglers sent the drone to the Indian border between Doke and Bhairowal, but the soldiers heard the sound of the drone and started firing towards it. During this, the drone was shot by the soldiers and they fell in the fields below. After this, in the night time itself, BSF started searching in the fields. Shortly after, the soldiers recovered the China Made Quadcopter DJI Matrice-300 drone from the fields.

The bag was tied with the drone

Drones from Pakistan were yet to drop the consignment in India, but before that they came in the sight of BSF jawans. The jawans found a black bag with the drone. Immediately the BSF personnel informed the officers.

10.670 kg heroin was in the bag

When BSF officials opened the bag, a sack was found in it. When opened, 9 packets were tied in yellow tape. BSF started investigation about all the packets. 10.670 kg of heroin was recovered from all the packets. The value of consignment of heroin in the international market is estimated to be around Rs 74 crore.

This 12th incident of the month of April-May

This is the 12th consignment caught by BSF in the month of April-May. Earlier on May 5 also, the BSF had recovered a consignment of 510 grams of heroin that had fallen in the fields. Not only this, this consignment caught today is the biggest so far of the month of April-May.
