Five member Pakistani delegation will visit India According to a media report on Saturday, next week for talks on the water dispute between the two countries. The talks will take place in New Delhi from May 30-31, Dawn newspaper quoted Pakistan’s Indus Water Commissioner Syed Muhammad Meher Ali Shah as saying.

The delegation will travel through the Wagah border. “There will be talks on sharing of flood forecast data, while the annual report of PCIW (Pakistan Indus Water Commissioner) will also be discussed during the talks,” Shah said.

He said the Pakistani delegation would not visit the under-construction Pakal Dul and Lower Kalnai dams, but those and other projects would be discussed.

In March, India and Pakistan reiterated their commitment to implement the Indus Waters Treaty in its true spirit and expressed hope that the next meeting of the Permanent Indus Commission would be held in India at the earliest.

Under the relevant provisions of the Indus Waters Treaty, the meeting alternates annually in Pakistan and India.
