Pakistan PM Imran Khan slams political rivals, blames them for destroying Pakistan – Times of India

Islamabad: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan Has attacked his political rivals with the mighty Bhutto Gentry The families accused him of promoting corruption and destroying the country.
In an interview to Al Jazeera news channel broadcast by Pakistan Television (PTV) on Saturday, Khan said that Pakistan is rich in resources, but they were misused by the Bhutto and Sharif families.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party chief Khan targeted the former prime minister Nawaz SharifKilled leader of Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Benazir Bhutto, adding that these are not parties but dynasties “responsible for corruption and the current problems facing the country”.
He said corruption is the greatest evil and reiterated his longstanding view that elites in developing countries were misusing resources in the Western world by keeping their own people poor.
According to the report of Geo News, he said that his government wants Pakistan to become a prosperous country and it is fighting against two super-rich families.
“Corruption is something that destroys a country. Poor countries are poor not because they lack resources but because their leadership is corrupt,” Khan said.
Former Prime Minister Sharif, currently living in London for treatment, is facing corruption charges in Pakistan. Former President of Pakistan, Asif Ali ZardariLate Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto’s husband is also facing several corruption charges.
“If allegations of corruption are leveled against the ministers, I myself will conduct a transparent inquiry against them,” Khan said. He said that the government swung into action after the Chinese investigation report exposed the mafia.
The cricketer-turned-politician said that during his long stay in Britain, he became well versed with the political system of the West and has always criticized the politics of Western powers.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan also said that his government will raise the Kashmir issue at every forum.
India has categorically rejected the reference to Jammu and Kashmir by Pakistan, saying it is an “integral and indivisible” part of India. New Delhi has repeatedly asked Islamabad not to interfere in the internal affairs of the country.
Expressing concern over the Afghan crisis, Khan said people in the neighboring country are facing extreme hunger and the US should support them.
He said that although no Afghans were involved in the 9/11 terror attacks, Afghanistan was attacked by the US for unknown reasons.
“I didn’t understand what the US wanted to achieve in Afghanistan. They occupied the country for 20 years in the name of the so-called war (against terror). If the aim was to eliminate al-Qaeda, it would ( al-Qaeda) – Qaeda) was over two years later,” he said.
Khan said that if anarchy breaks out in Afghanistan, Pakistan will have to face the consequences, as it shares a 2,600-km-long border with the war-torn country.
