Earlier, a report said that China is building a high-security complex in Gwadar, which it may use as a naval base.

In June Forbes magazine reported that analysts were watching for the first signs of a long-expected Chinese naval base in Gwadar, a major aerospace and defence.

“The base, to complement the one in Djibouti, will strengthen China’s foothold in the Indian Ocean. Recent satellite images show that several new complexes have been built over the years. One of them has been identified as belonging to a Chinese company.” The port development, as it has been done, has unusually high security,” Forbes said.

Forbes reported that Gwadar is located on the western edge of Pakistan and is expected to be a major port in China’s Belt and Road Initiative.

During the interview, Yusuf was asked whether Pakistan has developed such close relations with China that it refuses to raise its voice against the atrocities against Muslims in the country while it raises its voice against Kashmiri Muslims.

To which he replied, Pakistan does not agree with the Western version about the alleged atrocities against Muslims in Xinjiang, Geo News reported.

During the interview, Yusuf also appealed to the world to provide humanitarian aid to the people of Afghanistan.
