Pakistan Navy claims to have detected Indian submarine in its waters, shares video

New Delhi: The Pakistan Navy recently claimed to have ‘locating’ an Indian naval submarine in its territorial waters. The Pakistan Army on Tuesday claimed that its Navy had last week blocked an Indian submarine from entering the country’s waters.

According to the claims made by Pakistan Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), an Indian submarine was detected by a Pakistani Navy (PN) patrol aircraft on 16 October.

ISPR has also shared a video footage of the alleged incident.

The video purportedly shows an Indian naval submarine at periscope depth most likely to be shot down by a drone.

However, the veracity of the video is not yet known.

The Pakistan Army has said that during the current security environment, the security of the country’s maritime borders is being closely monitored by the Pakistan Navy.

According to the statement, this is the third incident of its kind during which an Indian Navy submarine was detected and tracked prematurely by a long-range maritime patrol aircraft of the Pakistani Navy.

The Indian Navy has also not yet issued a statement in response to the claims made by Pakistan.

The statement claimed that an incident of this nature was last reported in March 2019 when the Navy detected and thwarted the entry attempt of an Indian submarine.

“The Pakistani Navy used its special skills to successfully prevent the submarine from entering Pakistani waters,” PN said in a statement during that time.
