Bilawal Bhutto to hold official talks with her Russian counterpart where both sides will deliberate on the entire spectrum of bilateral relations

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari arrived in Moscow on Sunday on a two-day visit to Russia. Bhutto will meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Monday for official talks.

Bhutto was received by senior officials of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Pakistan’s ambassador to Russia and other officials, Dawn reported.

According to the Foreign Office, Bhutto is visiting Russia at the invitation of her Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov.

He will hold official talks with his Russian counterpart where the two sides will deliberate on the entire spectrum of bilateral ties and exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest, a statement said.

Foreign Minister Bhutto Zardari reportedly said, “I have been invited to speak at the annual National Prayer Breakfast international luncheon and I will make a trip for it.”

Earlier on January 19, a Russian delegation led by Russia’s Energy Minister Nikolay Shulginov visited Islamabad to discuss bilateral economic and trade ties with a focus on oil and gas exports to Pakistan.

A high-level Russian delegation visited Pakistan to explore possibilities of providing oil to cash-strapped Pakistan. It is believed that Bilawal’s visit will help in accelerating the supply of Russian oil to Pakistan.

Bilawal is also expected to visit the US in March to attend a UN conference on Muslim women. He may also attend another UN event to mark the International Day to Combat Islamophobia on March 15 in New York, reports said.
