The shipment by Pakistan to Ukraine comes even as it continues to ignore Russia’s requests for ammunition and arms

Even as millions of people in Pakistan grapple with severe food shortages and a worsening economic crisis, the country is set to send another consignment of arms and ammunition to help. ukraine Fight off the ongoing invasion by Russia.

According to a report by the Indian Defense Research Wing (IDRW), Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) have been sent 159 containers of 155mm artillery shells, M4A2 propelling bag charges, M82 primers and PDM fuses to Ukraine.

The bulk of the consignment will be sent via Poland to Ukraine in the coming weeks. Defense companies in Eastern European countries bordering Ukraine have emerged as a gateway to transfer Pakistan-made military equipment.

According to a report in The Economic Times, Project Shipping, a Pakistani shipping firm, will transport the consignment from Karachi Port to Gdansk Port in Poland later this month in a ship named BBC Vesuvius.

The shipment by Pakistan comes even as it continues to ignore Russia’s requests for ammunition and arms.

According to reports, Pakistan may receive Ukrainian assistance to upgrade its Mi-17 helicopters as a Ukrainian firm engaged in manufacturing aircraft engines is reportedly assisting in the upgrade of Pakistani helicopters.

Earlier, Pakistan played a key role in the transfer of arms to Ukraine from the UK.

Islamabad and Kyiv have close military ties and Pakistan had bought more than 320 Ukrainian T-80UD tanks in service.

Reports also claim that Pakistan has signed a $85.6 million deal with Ukraine for repair and maintenance of its fleet of T-80UD tanks.

Pakistan and Ukraine last year also agreed to improve their military ties in defense production, training, counter-terrorist activities and intelligence domains.
