Pak politician Aamir Liaquat’s third wedding to a teen gives Twitter a field day

Member of Pakistan’s national assembly Aamir Liaquat has married an 18-year-old girl. His new wife, Syeda Dania Shah, is his junior by 31 years.

Aamir Liaquat, a member of PM Imran Khan’s PTI, announced his wedding on Instagram on Thursday. “Last night tie[d] a knot with, Syeda Dania Shah, 18, she is belong to an honorable Najeeb ut Tarfain “Sadaat” Family of Lodhran, South Punjab, saraiki lovely, charming, simple and darling. I would like to request all of my well wishers, please pray for us, I have just passed the dark tunnel, it was a wrong turn,” he said on the social media said.

This is Aamir Liaquat’s third marriage and it took place on the same day as his second wife announced their divorce.

The couple has been quite social about their relationship. Aamir Liaquat has been posting videos with his now wife on Instagram for a while now. Dania has also flooded her social media with images of the couple.

‘Childhood idol’

In an interview after the wedding, Aamir Liaquat’s new bride said that she married her childhood idol. When the podcaster asked Dania when was the first time she felt she loved Liaquat, she said, “In childhood. I used to watch him on the TV. Whenever I used to cry, my parents would show me his images on the TV.”

The anchor also asked if she thought that she would marry the person she was watching on TV. Dania said she still can’t believe they were married.

Divorce with second wife

According to Liaquat’s post, the couple got married on Wednesday. Earlier on that day, his second wife, Pakistani actor Tuba Aamir, had confirmed her divorce with the MNA and TV personality.

She revealed that the former couple had been separated for the past 14 months.

“After a separation of 14 months, it was evident that there was no hope of reconciliation and I had to opt to take Khullah from Court,” Tuba Aamir posted on social media.

Ever since the announcement of the wedding, Twitter has been having a field day. Pakistanis are sharing memes and poking fun at the age difference.

Aamir Liaquat’s daughter miffed

The social media attention on her father’s wedding has left Aamir Liaquat’s daughter Dua Aamir miffed. People have been tagging her on comments and memes.

To put an end to this, Dua has urged people on Instagram to not tag her on things related to her family.

“Please stop commenting and mentioning me in posts regarding my family. This account is for my artwork and if you cannot respect that you are welcome to unfollow it. I am not going to entertain any comments or DMs about my personal life,” she said .
