Even though the lockdown was lifted when the second wave of corona subsided, its side effect still persists. A similar painful picture and story of lockdown has come out from Agra. Here the couple, who left for Bhopal on foot from Delhi, met in a bad condition.

Hungry and thirsty walking for 200 kilometers in 8 days, the condition of both of them has become very bad. The wife’s stomach started hurting due to hunger. Seeing the woman suffering on the road, nearby people rushed to the government hospital, but there they were asked for Rs 300. When she was not found, the woman kept on agonizing outside the emergency department. The media personnel somehow got him admitted after talking to the hospital administration.

Ramesh Adivasi, a resident of Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, works as a laborer in Delhi. In the newly completed building, along with wife Kiran, they work as stone-carrying. Ramesh says that in the first wave of Corona, his supervisor helped him a lot and got small jobs done. In the second wave, the situation got very bad. Supervisor Mohan also got hit by Corona and died. Then the company drove him away without paying wages, saying that there was no account of his arrears of wages.

When he came to die of hunger, he set out on foot.
Ramesh told that he had neither any work nor money in his pocket in Delhi. When it was time to die of hunger, he left for Bhopal on foot. For eight days he kept walking. On the way, after asking people, they used to eat something or the other and used to sleep on the side of the road. When they reached Agra after walking 200 km, both of them did not get food. Both were hungry since Monday. The woman’s condition worsened as soon as she reached Agra. Due to hunger, his stomach started hurting. She started suffering in the middle of the road. When the people around saw him, he was taken to the government hospital.

Ramesh says that seeing his wife suffering on the roadside, some people took him to SN Medical College. Here the hospital staff demanded Rs 300 from him for admission. Due to money, hungry Ramesh got upset for two days. The couple started crying outside the emergency. Seeing this, the media personnel helped him and admitted him to the hospital.
Ramesh says that in Madhya Pradesh, the talk of laborers is heard at once on the toll free number. There is no one to listen here. Ramesh says that for him the media personnel came out as God. Had he not been there, his wife would have died in agony. On the other hand, Sanjay Kala, the principal of the medical college, said that he was not aware of the matter. He said that after taking information about the incident, it will be investigated.
