Pachinko Season 2 Trailer: The new season of Pachinko is on the horizon and the trailer of the same has finally dropped. The highly-acclaimed Apple TV+ series brings back Lee Min-ho and Minha Kim, with their characters’ love blossing yet again in Japan, against the backdrop of the World War 2. The new season will also put deserving spotlight on Jin Ha’s character, who is grappling with his new life in Japan.

The trailer opens with Kim Sun-Ja (Minha Kim) living her happy life in 1945 before the US Army ventures into the skies of Japan and threaten the country. Koh Han-Su (Lee Min-ho) returned to Sun-ja’s life, in the hope to protect her and their son from the US attacks, and even explore a possible life with her. “It’s been 14 years. How did you find me?” Sun-ja asked Hansu in the trailer. “I never lost you,” he replied.

While love blossoms again, we are left to wonder if a cheating Sun-ja would fall prey to Han-su’s promises yet again and leave her husband. On the other hand, Baek Solomon (Jin Ha) dabbles with her career in Japan, his love for Naomi (Anna Sawai) and his search for purpose.

While fans are eager to see the cast reunite and tell the tale, which is based on the 2017 novel of the same name by Min Jin Lee, the trailer has also grabbed eyeballs due to BLACKPINK singer Rosé. The makers revealed she has covered Coldplay’s iconic song Viva La Vida for the series. Watch the trailer below:

Besides Lee Min-ho and Minha Kim, Pachinko season 2 also stars Oscar-winning actress Yuh-Jung Youn as the older version of Sun-ja, Eunchae Jung, Soji Arai, Junwoo Han and Sungkyu Kim.

The first season of Pachinko premiered in March 2022, with the series bagging nominations at the Emmy Awards. It eventually bagged the 2023 Critics Choice Awards for best foreign language series. The new season is set to premiere on August 23, on Apple TV+.
