Over 3,900 teaching posts vacant in Delhi University: Minister of State for Education in Rajya Sabha

The issue of many vacant posts of teachers in Delhi University has been raised many times. The matter became a little more clear when Minister of State for Education Subhash Sarkar himself said in Parliament that there are about 3900 posts of teachers vacant in DU.

In response to a question, the State Education Minister told the Rajya Sabha that more than 3900 posts of teachers are vacant in Delhi University. Whereas about 3000 teachers are working on these posts on ad-hoc basis.

This information was given by the Minister of State for Education, Subhash Sarkar in reply to a written question in Parliament. Broadly speaking, at present 50.85 percent teaching posts and about 68 percent non-teaching posts in Delhi University are vacant.
