“We are also collecting data on support staff who have experience working with differently-abled cricketers. DCCI is the only body which is supported by BCCI for promotion and development of cricket for individual players.

“All the data collected will be shared with BCCI which will be further divided state wise and sent to the state associations. This data will allow us to plan our activities efficiently. State cricket associations like Punjab, Hyderabad, Pondicherry, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Tripura etc. have already formed separate cricket committees at the state level and other states are also in the process, DCCI said in a statement.

Ravikant Chauhan, DCCI General Secretary and member of BCCI’s Differently Abled Committee, said, “At present many organizations are claiming themselves to represent the country without the consent of BCCI.

“This often leads to exploitation of players. We want to stop all this and bring in a system like there is for men and women players in BCCI.”
