Thousands of aspirants appeared for the walk-in interview scheduled for 2,216 vacancies.

Thousands of job seekers flooded Mumbai’s Kalina to appear for interviews conducted for just a handful of vacancies. Aspirants turned up for a walk-in interview at Air India Airport Services Ltd.

The walk-in interview was scheduled for 2,216 vacancies for various maintenance staff positions. However, due to the situation spiralling out of control, applicants were only asked to submit their resumes and then leave the premises.

A video clip of the massive crowd of aspirants gathered at the interview location went viral on social media platforms. The huge crowd caused a traffic jam in the area.

Sharing a video of the large crowd of job seekers outside the airport, Mumbai North Central MP Varsha Gaikwad criticized the BJP-led NDA government over unemployment and questioned the seriousness of both the State and Centre regarding the future of the country’s youth.

Gaikwad in her post on the microblogging site ‘X’ stated that  over twenty five thousand applicants appeared for interview for 600 posts at Mumbai airport.

“The youth need employment, not empty promises and false statistics. When will this government be serious about the future of the youth of the country?” stated Gaikwad.

Earlier, a similar incident occurred in Gujarat’s Bharuch district where nearly 1800 job aspirants queued up to appear for the interview held by a private firm for just 10 posts.
