The Oscars 2024 nominations were announced on January 23, with Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer,’ based on the story of American scientist J. Robert Oppenheimer and his role in the development of the atomic bomb, dominating with 13 nominations. It was followed closely behind by Emma Stone starrer ‘Poor Things’ with 11 nominations.

Meanwhile, Ryan Gosling will officially perform ‘I’m Just Ken’ at the 96th Academy Awards this year. Earlier this month, Gosling had expressed his wish to perform at the Oscars. “It might be too much of a risk to have me do it. I don’t know how that would work. But I’m open to it,” the actor told Variety. On the other hand, Mark Ronson, who wrote the song with Andrew Byatt, also said that it was a dream for Gosling to be able to perform at the Academy Awards.

Besides Best Original Song, Barbie has made it to seven more nomination categories including Best Picture, Best Supporting Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Adapted Screenplay (Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach), Costume Design, and Production Design, among others.
