Prayagraj: Senior police have started a detailed investigation into the mysterious death of a Bahria youth who was allegedly lynched by some unidentified persons to celebrate the victory of the ruling party. The district police termed it as a case of road accident after preliminary investigation, but ordered a detailed inquiry into the youth’s death after reports of the youth being lynched to celebrate the ruling party’s victory.
However, on Sunday, BJP supporters gheraoed the Bahria police station, accusing the local police of not taking action against the culprits. Locals alleged that a sub-inspector rank police officer deliberately downplayed the incident by terming it as a road accident, despite the fact that the youth was allegedly attacked by supporters.
