OPS sparks fresh controversy, says party high command will decide to re-induct Sasikala

While former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Edappadi Palanisamy said Sasikala has no affiliation with the party and rubbished all her claims, party coordinator O Panneerselvam gives a contradictory response. The leader, who had been silent on Sasikala for more than a week, finally broke the silence.

Responding to a query on Sasikala’s claim, the OPS said, “AIADMK is a cadre based party, the party high command will discuss and decide on Sasikala’s reinstatement. The party is now headed by a dual leadership.”

This has created a huge disagreement between party leaders and the co-coordinator EPS, categorically refused to include Sasikala, “VK Sasikala has nothing to do with AIADMK, she is not a member of AIADMK and we need to know her. Don’t care, the court and the Election Commission have already accepted us as AIADMK,” the EPS said in a stern tone after meeting the Tamil Nadu governor last week.

Another senior AIADMK leader Jayakumar also backed the EPS statement and reminded the OPS that it was he who signed the pact to keep Sasikala and her family away from the party. Former minister J. Says Jayakumar, “We want to remind the party coordinator (OPS) that their condition of joining the AIADMK after the revolt was to completely isolate the party from Sasikala and her family, there should be no confusion.” ”

While the OPS was actively making statements against the government, it remained silent from the beginning on the issue of Sasikala. He also did not join the EPS when he met the governor to submit a memorandum against the government, which revealed differences between the two top party chiefs.

“The voice of the cadres should be heard, there should be discussion with all other office bearers of the party, that is what the OPS has said. The party should act like this and there is nothing wrong in that. We will have to wait and see how things turn out and if there is a meeting of the high command,” says senior journalist Durai Karuna.

After the defeat in the rural local body elections, the party is facing another crisis due to confusion among top leaders.

Both were once called twin-barrel rifles, but this suggests that the bullets fired from a twin-barrel rifle are traveling in two different directions.
