Opposition parties slammed the government, saying the new list of unparliamentary words is meant to criticize the functioning of the Centre.

The BJP on Thursday hit out at the opposition, especially the Congress, over the issue of unparliamentary words and said it was trying to create an issue where no one was present.

Opposition parties slammed the government, saying the new list of unparliamentary words is meant to criticize the functioning of the Centre.

Referring to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla’s remarks on the issue, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Sambit Patra said that the speaker has presented the facts and cleared all the confusion created by the opposition.

He said that the speaker has clearly stated that no word has been banned and some words will be removed depending on its context.

Taking a jibe at the opposition, Patra said that many political parties, including the Congress, are trying to mislead the country and creating an issue where there is no one.
