Operation against terror in Jammu and Kashmir: 3 Lashkar terrorists trying to infiltrate in Kupwara killed, 6 terrorists encounter in 24 hours

Security forces foiled an infiltration bid in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Thursday. During this operation, the security forces killed three Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists. According to the police, we received inputs about the infiltration of terrorists into Jumagund village of Kupwara, following which the army and police carried out the operation.

IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar told that the terrorists killed are Pakistanis. Arms and ammunition have also been recovered from the encounter site. Earlier on Wednesday, three Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists were killed in an encounter. Security forces have killed a total of 26 Pakistani terrorists this year. Of these, 14 terrorists were associated with Jaish and 12 terrorists were associated with Lashkar.

5 terrorists arrested
On Monday, the Jammu and Kashmir Police had said that it has arrested 5 Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists. Of this, three were allegedly involved in the murder of the sarpanch in Baramulla last month.
